The idea behind introducing new concepts

This concept simply states that the way in which you look for something influences strongly what is found.

For example: in the TV program Soul Searching (Channel 4 on Sunday 14 September 2003 at 8pm) methods used to investigate what is the self were compared.

In the West the method is to study experience and to make logical deductions based upon this. This is the scientific method of experimentation.

In the East experience is seen as a distraction and the essence of the self is seen as beyond experience. Thus meditation is practised to clear the mind of experience to allow a clear view of the essence of the self.

Another example is in the two-slits experiment
