There are many different definitions of leadership and at least as many models for where the power exercised by a leader comes from.

Rather than delve into the complexities of these, I like the definition supplied in the quote below. I feel that Dan has managed to rise above the confusion of definitions and create a clear generic or meta-definition that can be applied to all of the smaller sub-definitions.

"A leader is anyone who has a desire to live their potentials in a way that has a conscious and positive effect on the world"
