Dave has created his own continual development programme. The continual development programme has one aim - to build as great a breadth of understanding as possible. Dave believes that understanding comes not from knowledge but from the connections made between knowledge items.

Do you ever feel connected? When you are in the right frame of mind, talking to someone with energy, can you just bounce of each other, making more and more new connections? Do you think that there genuinely could be an underlying connection or Theory of Everything?

Whatever you believe, learning and discovery is a special joy. The meaning behind the CDP is to attempt to acheive true understanding - whether it is possible or not - because the joy is in the trying.

To this end the CDP will enable Dave to learn about as many things as possible. Each year Dave will learn about something in one of the following key areas:

• Enhancing meta-skills (Glossary: meta-skills, Meta Skills Blog)
• A completely new skill or knowledge area
• Understanding of concepts that help to forge new connections.
